Many Ferrari lovers remember the Ferrari 575 Maranello and many people think that all the Ferrari's are designed by Pininfarina.
But from time to time another designing and engineering company designs a Ferrari. Like Scaglietti and Zagato.

Ugo Zagato started his company at the end of WWI and he went from aircraft industry to car's. Zagato designed many legendary cars such as Alfa Romeo 1500, then the 1750 Gran Sport, and the 2300 8C.

After the World War II, Zagato was very much active on this field of GT cars,a new racing category. Avant-garde styling, together with light weight and wind-cheating lines were main features of Zagato's models for the leading sports car manufacturers of that era - Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia, Abarth, Ferrari, and Aston Martin. In addition to the cars that were produced officially in small series, the company also built exclusive one-offs and prototypes for other illustrious marques, such as Ford, Jaguar, MG, Rover, Volvo, Bristol, and Rolls-Royce.

This may be the origin of the letter Z being used in the names of so many high performance cars. (An American television body shop add. about "Z"s, including "an Italian Z" supports this.) Of course, a letter can no more be trademarked than can be a bird or animal name or a way of using numbers.
Currently, Zagato is headed by Andrea Zagato.

There will be ... ONE Ferrari Zagato released.
